I obtained this group of items in April of 2020 from Deale, Maryland. It is a mixture of written and typed information, newspaper articles, announcements, postcards and pictures. I believe the owners were descendants of Stephen Smith (1813 – 1849) and Eunice C. Dimock (1811 – 1864) of Selma, Hants, Nova Scotia; down to Ichabod “Dimock” Smith (1839 – 1915) and Lucy anna Gove (1841 – 1922); down to Emily Curry Smith (1878 – 1962) and Donville R. Duncan (1873 – 1947); down to Merial L. Duncan (1907 – 1992) and Clinton Carlyle Simmons (1907 – 1988).
Items are shown in the order they were placed in plastic sheets, in a binder.
From my opening page: “If you share the information from this site, I only ask that you reference this site as your source, when sharing that information. There is a Richard Dimock Smith marrying Esther Lula Hudson on March 6, 1941 in Washington. A newspaper article has his mother as Mrs. Louisa A. Smith. WWII draft cards have as being born on June 6, 1914 and his employer as P. O. Storlie (husband of Eunice C. Smith). His next of kin is listed as Eunice Storlie. Photo #33 – Photo postcard. Written on the front, bottom, is “Salter Head Light.” Written on the front, top, is “Caleb Smith”. The back also has Caleb Smith written on it. Research: I have seen this postcard on line before but the individual was never identified. I would guess it to be either Ichabod “Dimock” Smith’s brother, Caleb Smith (1842 – 1923) or his brother’s son, also named Caleb Smith (1871 – ?).

Photo #34 – Photo postcard. Writing on the top right corner is “School mother attended”. Botton left has two sets of writing: “Selma School House” and “School House, Selma, N.S.” Research: If this group of materials are descended from the Selma Smiths and follows the line of Ichabod “Dimock” Smith and Lucy Ann (Gove) Smith, then perhaps this is the school Lucy went to, or her children went to.

Photo #46 – Written on the back: “Zerah, Marg, Mother & Austin Fly 1954” Research: Eunice’s sister, Susan M. Smith, married Zerah P. King. Eunice C. Smith’s first husband was Wilfred A. Smith and they had a son named Raymond W. Smith who married Margaret Eells. Possibly “Mother” is Emily (Smith) Duncan. Eunice and Wilfred also had a daughter, Ruth Mildred Smith married to Austin Fly.

Photo #47 – Printed on front, ” Jan 55″. Written on back, “Mother, Ruth, Sue, Ray” Research: I believe this group of items may have belonged to Merial Louise Duncan. (Smith) Duncan; Ruth Smith married to Austin Fly; Susan Smith married to Zerah King; Raymond Smith married to Margaret Eells.

Photo #48 – Printed on front, “Jan 55”. Written on back, “Ruth & Marg.” Possibly Ruth Smith married to Austin Fly, and Margaret Eells married to Raymond Smith.

Photo #51 – Written on back, “Ed, Ray, Zerah, Austin, Bobby Fly 1954”. Research: Eunice and Wilfred Smith had a son named Raymond W. Smith who married Margaret Eels and they had a son Edward O. Smith. Eunice’s sister, Susan M. Smith married Zerah P. King. Eunice C. Smith’s first husband was Wilfred A. Smith and they had a daughter Ruth M. Smith who married Austin Fly. They had a son, Robert Fly: :
