“Mary Gowin
Mary Greenleaf
Sarah F. Young
Gordon Y. Gowin born Dec 9, 1874″
Close up of newspaper obit, in next picture.
Research: Mary Millar and Joshua Corbett had a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Corbett who is married to George Edgar Greenleaf. In the 1900 U.S. Census for Malden MA it has the following: George Greenleaf 37 (Head); Mary Greenleaf 36 (wife); Gordon Y. Gowin, Single, 25 (brother-inlaw); Mary Gowin 62 b. N. S. (Mother-in-law). The 1910 census: George E. Greenleaf 47; Mary Greenleaf 46; Gordon Gowin 35, Single. The 1910 census has Mary Gowin living with her daughter Agnes (Corbett) McGuire. The 1920 census is the same as 1910 except they are ten years older.
It would appear that Joshua Corbett’s wife, Mary Millar, remarried to Orrington Gowin. In the obituary for Mary Gowin published May 1st, 1917, it states the following: She was born about 1836 in N.S. and died in MA in 1917. It lists her children as: J. W. Maguire (her daughter, Agnes Corbett, married William McGuire); Gordon Gowin, Wilbert Corbett, George W. Greenleaf; C. W. Wadman (her daughter Melinda Corbett married Charles Wadman) and Jure Maguire.
George Edgar Greenleaf was born November 24, 1862 in Malden, MA. He died February 14, 1922. Mary Elizabeth Corbett was born November 29, 1863 and died in 1921. Gordon Y. Gowin was born December 9, 1874 and died November 19, 1922.
Unsure of who Sarah F. Young is.
