This is a group of photos from an antique store in Colchester County, Nova Scotia. Just a mixed lot. I will work on the photos one at a time, and then add them to the group as I am done.

Research: Mary Catherine MacKenzie was born October 22, 1859 in Pictou County, Nova Scotia. Although the card has her death date as 6-2-85, all the death dates I found on line were February 4, 1885.
Mary C. MacKenzie’s parents were Hector MacKenzie and Jessie MacQuarrie. Jessie MacQuarrie was a daughter of Donald MacQuarrie and Catherine Campbell (from Photo #1)

Research: Found a U.S. Mason Membership card for a Kenneth John MacKenzie born April 16, 1859 in Nova Scotia, died October 25, 1901, residing in Lowell, Massachusetts. Possibly him?
Both Photos 1A and 1B were taken in Lowell, Massachusetts. The writing on the back appears to be the same but I’m not yet able to make the connection.

Thornton Academy founded in 1811 in Saco, Maine.

Research: Robert Montgomery Jordan was born March 17, 1876, in Maine. He was a half-brother to Josephine Robinson Jordan (Photo #2) His parents were James C. Jordan and Nancy Jane (Dusey) Jordan. He was the youngest child of James Jordan’s first marriage.

Research: Card is from St. John, New Brunswick. There is a James Wilfred Souther b. February 17, 1879 in St. John, New Brunswick. In 1905 he is still in New Brunswick, but in 1908 he is in Alberta. He had a son, Frederic Wilfred Souther, b. 1903 in St. John, but he would have also been in Alberta by 1908, at 5 years old. Perhaps this is James?

Research: There is an Irene Canning b. June 4, 1864 in Parrsboro, Cumberland, Nova Scotia. She marries, in 1902, in Massachusetts, to Arthur Jackson Powell. Possibly her?

Research: There is a Viola May Morris b. 1882 with a cousin Hilda Muriel Morris b. 1887. Viola’s father was George H. Morris, and his brother, Caleb Morris, was Hilda’s father. Picture may be of Viola May Morris?

Research: There is a Joseph Moore Austin, married to Mary Dewis Marsh. He died in 1953 at Collingwood Corner. He had a son, Emmerson M. Austin, b 1894. Possible connection? Photo in bad shape, and that’s after trying to clean it up a bit!
