This Bible follows the McCurdy line of Alexander McCurdy (1797 – 1889) and Jennet Archibald (1803 – 1851). When Jennet passed, Alexander married Dianah Hutchinson (abt.1811 – 1887).
This Bible was obtained on-line and was shipped from Brandon, Manitoba, just last year. The sellers had this grouped together with a photo-album (Burris name on inside, descended from the McCurdy’s), and an original 1873 1st edition of Thomas Miller’s History of the First Settlers of Colchester County (with handwritten corrections ). I was very excited to come across this group, however, it was on the expensive side. I decided to try anyway and I submitted an offer at less than half the minimum price being asked. I explained that I worked on Nova Scotia genealogy, and they generously accepted my bid! Was so kind of them! Now I am happy to be able to share the bible and photo album with others.
